This instructor-led fall protection training course will teach students how to navigate working at heights and how to identify equipment like harnesses and other critical fall protection components. This course is based off of Alberta OH&S legislation when taking the course in Alberta and is based off of BC legislation when taking the course in British Columbia.

Training Overview

This fall protection training course is based off of Alberta OH&S legislation when taking this course in Alberta. If you take this course in BC it will be based off of British Columbia's legislation. This fall protection course incorporates many industry best practices and is ultimately designed to exceed industry standards.

The course is a comprehensive study of fall protection and offers instruction on areas such as (but not limited to):

  • Explaining the importance of fall protection
  • Identifying fall protection systems and components
  • Calculating Free Fall Distance and Minimum Clearance Required
  • Fall protection planning and procedures

Training Provider

This course in provided in partnership with Safe-T Core Training and Testing. Their trainer will provide the hands-on training and ABCS Safety Training Inc. provides the online course content.

Course Length

This training course is approximately eight hours in duration, includes an instructor led presentation, practical exercises, class discussion, videos, written knowledge test, and practical exam.

Training Certificate

Upon successful completion of the training program, you will receive a training certificate that is valid for 3 years.

Pre-Requisites

  • Provision of government issued photo ID
  • Physically capable of wearing a fall protection harness.

This course is based off of Alberta OH&S legislation when taking the course in Alberta and is based off of BC legislation when taking the course in British Columbia.

ABCS is an approved training provider for the BC Construction Safety Association's (BCCSA) NCSO Compulsory Fall Protection requirement.

Course Policies

  • Ten (10) business days before the course start date: Full refund of registration fees or can be transfers to a different course date.
  • Between nine (9) to five (5) business days before the course start date: Refund of half (50%) course registration fees. No transfers to future course dates.
  • Less than five (5) business days before the course start date and course no-shows: No refunds or transfers to future course dates.

If the NRCA must postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, NRCA will refund the registration fee or, if possible, the attendee may choose to move to an identical session in the future.
