Training Overview

ABCS Lift Truck (commonly know as a forklift) is designed to exceed industry standards. The course is approximately eight hours in duration and includes an instructor-led presentation, practical exercises, class discussion, videos, a written knowledge test, and a practical exam. This course incorporates many industry best practices and is ultimately designed to exceed industry standards.

This instructor-led training course is engineered to assist employers in ensuring the competence of their workers. It is based on up to date legislation, CSA, and Industry Standards and incorporates many industry best practices. After successfully completing the program, workers will be able to safely operating a lift truck in the field.

The course is a comprehensive study of lift trucks and offers instruction on areas such as: 

  • Legislation and Standards
  • Weather Considerations
  • Minimum Safe Approach Distance (MSAD)
  • Lift Truck Stability (Stability Triangle)
  • Load Capacity
  • Determining Load Weight
  • Load Control

Training Provider

This course in provided in partnership with Safe-T Core Training and Testing. Their trainer will provide the hands-on training and ABCS Safety Training Inc. provides the online course content.

Course Length

The course is approximately eight hours in duration.

Training Certificate

Upon successful completion of the training program, you will receive a training certificate that is valid for 3 years.

Pre-Requisites

  • Provision of government-issued photo ID
  • Participants must be prepared with their own PPE including: Hardhat, Safety Glasses, and Steel-toed boots.

Course Policies

  • Ten (10) business days before the course start date: Full refund of registration fees or can be transferred to a different course date.
  • Between nine (9) to five (5) business days before the course start date: Refund of half (50%) course registration fees. No transfers to future course dates.
  • Less than five (5) business days before the course start date and course no-shows: No refunds or transfers to future course dates.
  • If the NRCA must postpone or cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment, NRCA will refund the registration fee or, if possible, the attendee may choose to move to an identical session in the future.
