IMPACT is a luncheon‑style professional forum that brings together women, those who identify as women, and allies from construction and other traditionally underrepresented sectors across Northern British Columbia.

Designed as a space for real, grounded conversation, IMPACT focuses on honest dialogue about work, influence, and change in industries that are evolving, growing, and becoming increasingly diverse. Rather than formal training or traditional networking, the event emphasizes shared experience, practical insight, and thoughtful discussion informed by everyday workplace realities

The program features a keynote from Cathy McKay, CEO of EDI, followed by a moderated panel discussion with speakers from industry and academia.

Keynote - Cathy Mackay, EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc.

Cathy Mackay is the Chief Executive Officer of EDI Environmental Dynamics Inc. (EDI), an environmental consulting company serving western and northern Canada. Cathy is both a Registered Professional Biologist and a Professional Agrologist, bringing a balanced perspective that blends business discipline with a deep understanding of science, collaboration and place-based knowledge.

Since joining EDI in 2006, Cathy has navigated a distinguished career path from field biologist to executive leadership, taking on progressively senior roles—from branch manager to Chief Operating Officer and now CEO. She is motivated by a passion for creative problem-solving and service. Named as one of six recipients of Business in Vancouver’s Influential Women in Business Award in 2024 and as one of BC’s Top 500 Influential Leaders in 2025, Cathy also serves on the Board of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce and is a dedicated supporter of the BC Cancer Foundation.

IMPACT is delivered in partnership with Northern Innovation Network and supported by regional partners invested in workforce sustainability and the future of Northern BC’s economy.
